How do I know if a Harman igniter is bad?

  • Check to see if the igniter is getting hot in the burn pot. If the igniter is not getting hot your next step is to check the wiring and resistance. 
  • Use a volt meter to check for voltage at the igniter when the control light is on. 
  • Next, check the resistance of the igniter.  The resistance should read 47-50 ohms.
